“Lewis, it’s Hammer Time”. A radio message that was as soon as feared by the opponents and their followers, will now be missed on the grid. Lewis Hamilton drove his final race for Mercedes on Sunday on the Yas Marina Circuit, a crew with whom he has received six world titles.
Because the race ended, the British driver shared an emotional radio trade together with his race engineer Peter Bonnington, also known as Bono on the crew radio, and crew principal Toto Wolff. Each had very heartwarming messages for Hamilton as he drove across the Yas Marina Circuit after crossing the end line within the cooldown lap, earlier than treating the followers to a donut spectacle.

“Lewis, that was the drive of a world champion,” Toto Wolff was all praises for the motive force as Hamilton thanked the crew on the radio for all of the exhausting work they’ve executed for him over the previous 11 years. Bono adopted swimsuit in congratulating Lewis on his profitable tenure at Mercedes. “Good lad. Stellar job right now bud. However yeah, it’s been a pleasure all the way in which…” to which the seven time world champion replied with “The pleasure’s been mine. Yeah Bono. You recognize, we dreamed alone, however collectively we believed and, as a crew, we achieved issues that solely… Thanks for all of the braveness, the dedication, the eagerness and for seeing me and supporting me.
