Deputy Assistant Secretary for Surroundings within the Bureau of Oceans and Worldwide Environmental and Scientific Affairs (OES) John Thompson will lead the U.S. delegation on the fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-5) on plastic air pollution, to be held in Busan, the Republic of Korea, November 25 to December 1, 2024.
Deputy Assistant Secretary Thompson might be joined by State Division and interagency representatives, together with negotiators and senior consultants from throughout U.S. authorities businesses and places of work. Â INC-5 will convene representatives from about 175 nations with the purpose to finalize the textual content of a brand new worldwide legally binding instrument on plastic air pollution.
