Police have arrested a 23-year-old man on costs of sexually harassing a lady co-passenger on a flight from Delhi to Goa, officers stated on Wednesday.
The alleged incident passed off between 11 am and 1.20 pm on Tuesday on board the Air India flight, as per the FIR.
The 28-year-old lady, resident of Janakpuri in New Delhi, informed the police that when the airplane was airborne, the person, who was sitting on the seat subsequent to her, pulled over a blanket and allegedly began indulging in objectionable acts.
The person purposely stored the blanket open together with the sufferer throughout the act, as per the FIR.
The girl filed a police criticism in opposition to the person after the flight landed on the Goa Worldwide Airport at Dabolim in South Goa on Tuesday.
The Dabolim airport police later arrested the person, recognized as Jitender Jangian, hailing from Panipat in Haryana, a senior police official stated.
A case was registered in opposition to the accused below sections 75 (sexual harassment) and 79 (actions supposed to insult a lady’s modesty, together with verbal insults, inappropriate gestures or objects, and privateness invasion) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the police added.
