
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey was handled by paramedics Sunday after showing to grow to be unsteady at a marketing campaign rally for congressional candidate Caroleene Dobson.
Ivey’s workplace mentioned the governor had gotten dehydrated and is recovering after being handled with fluids.
Ivey, 80, was attending a Sunday night marketing campaign rally for Dobson at SweetCreek Farm Market in Pike Street, about 18 miles (29 kilometers) southeast of Montgomery, when the incident occurred. Witnesses mentioned Ivey was shaking as she stood with Dobson and held on to a beam for help. WAKA posted video from the occasion displaying the governor trying unsteady. The station reported that members of Ivey’s employees then ran as much as her. An ambulance was known as to the scene.
“Whereas campaigning for Caroleene Dobson at an occasion this night, the governor obtained dehydrated. She acquired fluids and was evaluated on web site out of precaution. She instantly felt higher and is at dwelling doing properly this night,” Ivey spokeswoman Gina Maiola wrote in a texted assertion.
The Republican governor introduced in 2019 that she had been recognized with early stage lung most cancers and would endure radiation therapies. She mentioned in 2020 that the most cancers seemed to be gone and that her physician thought of her cancer-free.
Dobson is the Republican nominee within the 2nd Congressional District. Ivey has endorsed Dobson within the race.
