
Amid the Diwali festivities, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Company (BMC) on Wednesday seized 166.25 kg unlawful firecrackers.
From October 25, the civic physique has seized a complete of 229.5 kg of unlawful firecrackers. The BMC’s license division had final week initiated crackdown on unlawful fireplace crackers in Mumbai.

The BMC’s knowledge reveals that no unlawful firecrackers have been seized from M/East (Govandi, Mankhurd), N (Ghatkopar), P/North (Malad), G/North (Dadar, Mahim), C (Kalbadevi) and A (Fort, Nariman Level, Marine Drive) wards.
“The municipal company’s pointers mandate having a particular licence for promoting fireplace crackers together with an NOC from the Mumbai Hearth Brigade (MFB). The BMC officers maintained that the drive for seizing firecrackers will proceed throughout the festive season.
In the meantime, Municipal Commissioner and state-appointed administrator Bhushan Gagrani had issued a directive stating that bursting of firecrackers might be allowed solely between 8 pm and 10 pm on the day of Diwali.
