Eight individuals have been arrested on Saturday in reference to the alleged gangrape of a newly-wed girl at a picnic spot in Rewa district on October 21, police stated. Rewa SP Vivek Singh stated the accused have been arrested on Saturday morning.
One of many accused had fled to Raipur in neighbouring Chhattisgarh, and he was arrested from there, the SP stated.
All of the accused are within the age group of 20-25 years. In accordance with the police, the accused have been additionally picnicking and so they have been in an intoxicated state.
“The couple had travelled to the spot on a bike on October 21. The accused individuals have been taking a shower, making meals and partying,” stated Singh.
He stated the group of males allegedly assaulted the person and gangraped his spouse. ENS
