
Reliance Infrastructure Ltd, a part of the Anil Ambani group, on Tuesday introduced the organising of an built-in challenge for the manufacturing of explosives, ammunition and small arms in Maharashtra. The corporate mentioned it has been allotted 1000 acres of land in Watad Industrial Space of Ratnagiri, Maharashtra to develop Dhirubhai Ambani Defence Metropolis (DADC). “DADC would be the largest greenfield challenge within the defence sector in India by any non-public sector firm,” the corporate mentioned.
Reliance Infrastructure by means of its subsidiaries has exported defence tools value greater than Rs 1,000 crore over a time frame. Its wholly owned subsidiaries Jai Armaments Ltd and Reliance Defence Ltd have already got license from the federal government for manufacturing of arms and ammunition, the corporate mentioned.
The proposed initiatives envisage potential joint ventures with as much as six main world defence firms. “Ammunition vary will embrace small, medium & massive caliber and terminally guided munition (TGM). Small arms portfolio will handle the export markets, each Civil and Army purposes,” the corporate mentioned.
Reliance already has joint ventures (JVs) at MIHAN, Nagpur, Maharashtra with two of the main world defence firms – Dassault Aviation and Thales of France.
