
The Kanpur police have arrested a 34-year-old farmer for allegedly raping a lady head constable of the state police after providing her a trip to her relations’ home in Kanpur on Sunday. The 29-year-old lady is posted in one other district.
On Monday, the accused, recognized as Dharmendra Paswan alias Kallu, was produced earlier than a courtroom in Kanpur that remanded him in judicial custody, police stated.
The girl’s medical examination was finished and the report is awaited, police stated.
Based on the police, the girl, who was in plain garments, reached Kanpur by bus on Sunday. The accused, who belongs to the identical village as her relations, noticed her and supplied her a trip on his motorbike.
The complainant has alleged that the accused forcibly took her to a secluded spot – a farm – and raped her, stated a police officer on the station involved. In an effort to defend herself, the girl bit a finger of the accused, a police officer stated.
After managing to flee, the sufferer reached a close-by police station.
The police launched a search operation and arrested the accused. The case was registered underneath sections 64 (rape), 76 (legal drive to lady with intent to disrobe), 115(2) (voluntarily inflicting damage), 117 (voluntarily inflicting grievous damage), and 351(2) (legal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
