“In view thereof, the mandatory papers be forwarded inside a month of the interval of the completion of 25 years sentence of the appellant (Salem),” the Supreme Court docket had stated.
Therefore, the CBI stated, the problem of his launch date will come up just one month previous to his launch and that if Salem wants any clarification on this, he must transfer the Supreme Court docket.
In 2015, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for the homicide of Mumbai-based builder Pradeep Jain, who was killed in 1995. In September 2017, Salem was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for his position within the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, which had claimed 257 lives.
