
A ten-year-old boy was killed in Anand district after a metallic container by which he was bursting a firecracker exploded, and a splinter allegedly severed an artery in his leg, inflicting extreme blood loss, police stated.
The incident passed off in Vatadra village of Khambhat Taluka of Anand district Monday night time when the boy, Nirmal Thakor, was bursting firecrackers exterior his home.
In a press release to Khambhat Rural police, his father Alpesh stated that Nirmal was bursting sutli (jute-string) bomb by overlaying it with a container exterior his home when the cracker burst and shattered the metallic field into items, inflicting the splinter to enter his physique, together with the femoral artery in his thigh.
Nirmal was rushed to the Khambhat referral hospital, the place he was declared lifeless on arrival because of the blood loss attributable to the accident. Police stated that the boy’s mother and father refused to conduct a autopsy examination.
