An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 struck the Hindu Kush area in Afghanistan on Wednesday, the Nationwide Heart for Seismology (NCS) mentioned.
The quake was at a depth of 75 km (46 miles), NCS mentioned, and the epicentre 164 km east of Baghlan, a metropolis with a inhabitants of about 108,000.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) first reported the quake at a magnitude of 6.4.
