4 troopers have been killed and two injured on Saturday after an Military car, which was a part of a convoy, skidded off the street and rolled down in the direction of Wular lake in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Officers mentioned that the incident passed off close to Sadrakote Payeen village on the Bandipora-Srinagar freeway. Military and locals launched a rescue operation and shifted the injured troopers to the hospital. Docs declared two of them introduced useless whereas 4 injured have been referred to Srinagar for specialised therapy. Later, two extra troopers succumbed to their accidents.
In a submit on X, the Military’s Chinar Corps mentioned, “On 04 Jan 24, whereas performing responsibility in Bandipora district, a car of the Indian Military skid(ed) and fell into the gorge because of inclement climate and poor visibility circumstances. Injured troopers have been promptly evacuated for medical care with help from Kashmiri locals, for which we categorical gratitude in the direction of the residents in offering instant succour.”
“Tragically three bravehearts misplaced their lives within the unlucky accident. Indian Military extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved households,” the Chinar Corps mentioned, and in a subsequent submit, confirmed the loss of life of one other soldier.
CM Omar Abdullah and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha condoled the loss of life of the troopers.
Expressing shock over the incident, Omar Abdullah prolonged heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved households of the troopers, and wished a speedy restoration of the injured troopers.
