Police investigation into the alleged suicide of a 15-year-old college scholar has discovered that he was sexually abused by a 26-year-old man who had been threatening to flow into the video of the crime. Police have arrested the accused on costs of abetment to suicide and provisions of the Safety of Kids from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
An FIR was registered at a police station in Pune metropolis on Monday primarily based on the criticism of the boy’s father. His son, a scholar of Class 10 at a college in Pune, had allegedly died by suicide by hanging at their home on October 15.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the boy had been receiving messages from varied numbers threatening him to flow into a sure video. We zeroed in on a 26-year-old man who works as a gross sales govt. He usually stands exterior a mall. It got here to gentle that the deceased boy had met the accused exterior the mall. A number of months in the past, the accused allegedly took the boy to a secluded location on a hill and sexually assaulted him,” the senior inspector stated.
“The accused had allegedly recorded the crime and had been sending messages to the boy threatening to flow into it. Probe means that repeated harassment drove the teenager to take the acute step,” the officer added.
After the suicide was reported, the police had registered a case of sudden loss of life pending probe into the causes. After the completion of the investigation, an FIR was registered and the 26-year-old was arrested. He has been remanded in police custody.
Police have invoked Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Part 107 which pertains to abetment of suicide of a kid and provisions of POCSO.
